Beta Glucan - Information about Beta Glucan

Beta glucan, is a sugarlike compound derived from a yeast called saccharomyces. It is used as an immunostimulant. They are sugar molecules i.e. polysaccharides. Certain plants and microorganisms are naturally high in this polysaccharide compound.

In their natural states, yeast and mushrooms contain a mixture of beta-1,3-glucan and beta-1,6-glucan. Oats and barley contain a mixture of beta-1,3-glucan and beta-1,4-glucan.

There are two main applications of beta-glucan i.e. to enhance the immune system and to lower blood cholesterol levels.

The skin contains macrophages and other antigen presenting cells. Some of these cells, accept beta-1,3 glucan, which can increase non-specific immunity against bacteria, fungi and other insults. The beta glucan, actually the most powerful immunity enhancer known to science. In addition, beta glucan can also fight infections, improve intestinal flora, and help with irritable bowel syndrome, diabetic conditions, ulcer, digestion, tumors, and cancer growth.

The beta glucan, is found very effective to minimize the signs of aging and improve skin tone and firmness. They are sugar molecules bound together as a sugar and protein complex. The richest concentrated source of betaglucans is baker's yeast cell walls, but it is also present in lesser amounts in barley, oats, some seaweeds, mushrooms, and other plants. Betaglucan extract taken from these natural sources does not contain the protein part of the complex, so it does not induce any hypersensitivity or allergy.

Beta glucan, has potent antioxidant and free radical scavenging capabilities. Creams containing beta glucan have been found to promote wound healing and reduce scarring associated with injuries to skin.

The beta glucan penetrates deep enough into the skin layers i.e. the epidermis and dermis to reduce wrinkles by synthesizing collagen in the skin making it a viable alternative to injectable fillers such as collagen or more recently hyaluronic acid or even Botox injections.

While Beta 1,3-D Glucan is unknown to a majority of the general public, many health researchers consider it to be one of the most effective immune enhancing substances ever discovered. It has been proven to safely enhance immune system function in independent testing.

It is consider as a natural substance, there are no negative side effects and there is no danger of overdose. Clearly Beta Glucan is a natural, safe, specific and highly effective way to keep our immune system healthy.

Beta Glucan has been one of the most intensely studied immune potentiators ever to come down the pike. Beta Glucan , manufactured by Transfer Point , has had more documented 3rd party scrutiny than any other glucan product on the market today.
