Eyebrow Waxing - How to Apply the Wax

The waxing is a quick and relatively easy alternative to plucking your eyebrows. Eyebrow waxing is ideal for those who are always ahead with the grooming ways. Eyebrow waxing is done with the help of waxing strips, which are generally made of soft plastic and have adhesive on one side.

Waxing is a quick and relatively easy alternative to plucking your eyebrows, that is if your skin is not sensitive. It is generally best to get your eyebrows waxed by a professional. The process involves placing of the eyebrow stencil over the eyebrow, application of slight pressure so that the wax sticks on all the hair that doesn't fit the stencil and then firm tugging away from the direction of growth in a snap pulling out the stencil. The method is quick and efficient. There is hardly any mess and the pain dies out in a little while. It is definitely better than tweezing and trimming because it gives a much cleaner and neater well-groomed salon fresh look.

Applying the Wax :-

Before applying, warm up the wax to optimum temperature and use the small spatula to apply a thin layer of wax to the growth. Make sure that you only use a small amount of wax on the spatula to avoid the wax dripping when it is applied. Apply wax with the hair growth under the eyebrow.

Here are some tips to do eyebrow waxing:

  • First you have to prepare your eyebrow. To do this, just brush the eyebrow into place with a baby toothbrush or a clean mascara wand.
  • Apply an astringent on the eyebrow area to make it numb for sometime.
  • Calculate the length of the eyebrow you want by holding a ruler parallel to your nose, leveling it with the inner corner of the eye to see where you the brow should begin and mark the point with a dot using the brow pencil.
  • If your eyes are close together, make the gap between the brows wider. If your eyes are far apart, don not wax the start line of the brow too much so that they are closer together.
  • To calculate the curve and mark the highest point of the brow arch, hold the ruler from the edge of the nostril past the outer edge of the iris up to the eyebrow and mark it with a dot too.

Waxing involves spreading hot wax over the area targeted for hair removal, placing a strip of cloth over the wax, rubbing vigorously and then ripping the cloth along with the wax and the hair in one smooth stroke. This technique removes the hair and hair root. Waxing lasts a few weeks and then you will need to go back for another session. As with plucking, most aestheticians and cosmetologists who service women also accept male clients.
